3 Décembre 2012An old, but for me, the greatest performance, of Scheherazade ever recorded.
The Berlin Philharmonic and it's concertmaster in 1967, Schwalbe, I studied violin in the early 1970s with the St Louis Symphony and one of their principals-so I've heard many great violinists play, and heard many great orchestras, including the Vienna Philharmonic.

This 1967 performance by Karajan and Schwalbe is definitely one for the records although it is certainly not the best by Karajan specifically.

I bought this CD because of Scheherazade, but I found that the Borodin pieces are actually better performed.
