When Dr Isles becomes unwillingly, involved in a crime committed outside her house, but is unable to openly participate in the investigation, for reasons she is initially unable to accept, the focus of this novel changes from the normal "duo" style, or even heavily pregnant Rizzoli'esque style of story, into a more in depth look into the life of Dr Isles and the interesting background she has, but didn't know about.
