A masterclass in characterisation
It is a testament to King's phenomenal output that other works of his have overshadowed this particular novel.
A Brilliant Character!
There are a number of things Stephen King does very well.
Loved It!
Without spoiling any of the points in Dolores Claiborne, I'd like to jump right in to why I love this book so much.
Again....the best
Another great story.
One Woman's Struggle To Protect Her Family
Knowing that she will be accused of the death of Vera Donovan, her bitchy and mean former employer, Dolores Claiborne turns herself into the police and relates to them the story of her relationship with Vera as well as the details surrounding the death of her husband almost thirty years prior.
Gets you into the head of a strong woman
Written in the POV of the title character, and in the local dialect, this story took me a couple of pages to get into, but after that, it was a page turner.
How a Book Can Intrigue
When a woman, Doloris Claiborne marries the wrong man for the wrong reasons, she finds out what can happen.
Great new side of King
This perfect book by King is a complete turn from his usual gorey horror stories.
Dull Reading Ahead
I am somewhat of a King fan, and I am a fan of more literary fiction, but the two just don't work in the same book.
Unusual, but rivetting
I found this book very interesting, as it shows that King can be human.
