Highly Recommended
Excellent narrative, and the story was a compelling one.
Not your ordinary Victorian themed romance novel
Love.
My favorite Shreve book
I almost skipped reading this book when I read the synopsis on the dust jacket.
The same old story
In Fortune's Rocks, Shreve presents us with your basic young-girl-falls-in-love-with-married-older-man-and-gets-pregnant scenario.
A Big hit for Anita Shreve
I have not read all of Shreve's books, but I have read a lot of them.
A Good Beach read
Found the story a little preposterous, but managed to finish it.
A bit unbelievable but well-written.
About a young girl, Olympia, who falls in love with a friend of her father's, Fortune's Rocks is about love, risk, ruination and recovery.
This book "rocks" - get it???
First of all, I would like to say that this is the best book I have ever read.
Passion Overcomes Morality in Turn of Century Tale
Anita Shreve takes a step into the past with this book which begins in 1899 and follows the life of Olympia Biddeford, a privileged young girl from the Boston society world.
Melodramatic rubbish
I made it about 1/4 way through before giving up.
