Somewhat silly trial conceit, but offers good insights
As a big fan of the Star Wars films over the past decades, I'm always looking for some insight and critical thought on the saga.
Literary criticism made palatable
I'm writing this review quite a few years after I read the book, but I remember it was extremely well-received by my sci-fi book club, giving us many topics to talk about.
website no longer available
Just a quick note that the Star Wars on trial website is no longer available so you will be unable to participate in the jury or look at what other people's opinions were..
David Brin's Credibility on Trial
David Brin is frustrated with Star Wars novels because they \"are driving real SF off the shelves.
A non-SW-fan's take on this fine book of essays
Not able to classify myself a Sci-Fi geek, and not a particular fan of Star Wars , I approached this book from a point of view I thought would be largely neutral.
Suitable for both critics and fans, full of humor and enthusiasm
Intellectually, the Prosecution wins the case with flying colors.
Wicked piece of work
If you like the SW universe and think it's fine as-is, don't get this.
A total delight!
Before you read the review, I do give some things away, so be warned!
Roger Corman's REVENGE OF THE FANBOY
Author/critic Hallie Ephron once said that a bad review is more about the reviewer than the work reviewed, and this essay collection reinforces it, albeit with humor.
Great Fun, Strong Contributors
There are some strong, thought-provoking \"takes\" on Star Wars' impact on pop culture and science fiction.
